Further achievements, functions and Awards (most significant):
  • Scientific Awards: 12 awards including the European Respiratory Society (ERS) “Paediatric Respiratory Research Award”, the “Best Eur Respir J Reviewer Award” and the Manes Kartagener Award.
  • Funding: as a principal investigator and investigator, respectively, 1,495,175 EUR in total.
  • Research promotion: Establishing the “Young Researcher Platform” at University Children`s Hospital Zurich to facilitate networking, resource sharing, professional mentoring, and socialising. In the last 12 years, organizing and hosting journal clubs for junior trainees in Zurich, Bern, and Graz.
  • Teaching: At international scientific conferences, chairing of scientific sessions (11) and giving post-graduate courses and lectures (18) on a regular basis. The same applies to national meetings (19). Supervisor of 9 students and advisor of 8 students at the Medical Universities of Zurich, Bern and Graz, respectively.
  • International Task Force (TF) work: so far, 3 international TF projects. Currently, participation in 1 European Respiratory Society (ERS) and 1 American Thoracic Society (ATS) TF application.
