Izabela Borek is an immunologist interested in the role of immune cells in maintaining vascular homeostasis and in driving vascular remodeling in chronic lung diseases. Her research focuses on how alterations in immune cell composition and immune cell–derived serine proteases contribute to pathological tissue remodeling, linking immune dysregulation to fibrotic and vascular outcomes in the lung.
